About Me

My name is Alexis Kaegi and I've been called to serve as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints! I've been assigned to labor in the Brazil São Paulo Interlagos mission, starting July 17th, 2013. I've set up a blog so everyone might be able to see my weekly updates as I continue on my little big adventure of hard work.

From July 17th-August 27th, I'll be in the Provo Missionary Training Center (MTC) learning Portuguese and how to teach the gospel, simultaneously. From August 28th onward, I'll (hopefully!) be in Brazil if my visa comes through!

Here's some missionary-specific lingo for those of you who might not know:
Area: I'll be assigned to an area for a period of several weeks where I'll teach and serve those living within it's boundaries.
Companion: Another sister missionary will always be at my side wherever I go! We'll eat, teach, walk, study, and learn together. I'll get a new companion every once in a while.
District: The group of missionaries I'm with in my area or something.
Greenie: New missionaries to the field.
P-day: Once a week I get a day to go do stuff like buying groceries, doing laundry, and writing emails/letters back to whoever has sent me stuff!
Ward: A congregation of people who attend church together and live within their ward's boundaries. A branch is a smaller ward.

My mom is posting for me while I'm out serving, so contact her if you notice broken links or anything. Thanks for reading, and thanks for the messages if you've sent me some! :)
